Zonta Service Projects

Zonta Club of Fort Myers Area:

The Zonta Club of Fort Myers Area has been advancing the status of women for 30 years through fundraising and hands-on projects.

Our largest annual fund raiser is a dinner and auction. The funds raised go to the service projects as voted on each year by our members. A few examples are:

  • Sustaining two endowment scholarship funds at Florida Gulf Coast University
  • Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking
  • Our Mothers Home
  • Mary's House of Hope, Inc.
  • Habitat for Humanity
  • Partnership in Family Building
  • Women’s Breast Health Care
  • Ruth Cooper Center
  • Lee County Vo-Tech Scholarships.

We also support other organizations, with goals similar to ours, through participation and hands-on assistance. Being part of Zonta is a personal commitment.

Zonta International Service Projects:

Zonta International selects service projects in various countries to benefit the legal, political, economic, educational, health and professional status of women around the world.

  • Zonta International supports women’s education through its Amelia Earhart Fellowship Scholarship Awards for graduate study in aerospace related sciences and engineering.
  • The Young Women in Public Affairs Award, created to encourage young women to seek leadership positions in public policy, government and volunteer organizations, is also a featured service project of Zonta International.
  • For more than 50 years, Zonta International, in conjunction with various United Nations agencies, has provided financial support and technical assistance to women and children in developing countries.
  • The Zonta International Strategies to Eradicate Violence Against Women and Children (ZISVAW) focuses on prevention, awareness and education, and develops innovative solutions to eliminate abuse against women and children.
